This is a public, read-only website. There are no accounts to create, no logins, and no database behind it. Cookie-free analytics and routine server logs run on every visit. Google Analytics does not run unless you accept it. One page carries a booking calendar from another company, and that calendar sets its own cookies as soon as the page opens. Beyond those, the only information that leaves your browser is what you type into a form and choose to send. The details are below.

The site has two forms: the contact form and the newsletter signup. When you submit one, we check that the fields are filled in sensibly and forward the submission to our customer relationship system, HighLevel. The website itself keeps no copy.

We use what you send to reply to you, or, for the newsletter, to send you what we publish. If you want off the list, every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and writing to hello@alleviatedrisk.com works too.

To slow down automated spam, the form routes briefly hold your network address in server memory between submissions. It is not written to any database, because there is no database.

The Start a Conversation page carries a calendar so you can put a time on it directly. That calendar is not ours. It is served by HighLevel, the same customer relationship system the forms go to, and it loads inside a frame on our page.

Because it is their page inside ours, it sets its own cookies when the page opens, and it does that whether or not you accept analytics. Those cookies are what make the calendar work: they hold your place while you move from picking a day to picking a time to filling in your details. We do not read them, and no advertising is built on them.

Once you book, what you typed goes to HighLevel, the same as a form submission. If you would rather not load their calendar at all, the contact form on that page reaches us the same way, and so does writing to hello@alleviatedrisk.com.

We use three tools to understand, in aggregate, which pages get read and how fast they load: Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and Google Analytics.

Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights are cookie-free and run on every visit. Google Analytics is not cookie-free, so it does not run until you say yes. Until you accept, nothing loads from Google at all: no cookie, no request, not even the cookieless kind. Decline and it stays that way.

If you accept, Google Analytics stores a randomly generated number in your browser so that four pages read in one sitting count as one visit rather than four, and so a return visit next month is not counted as a stranger. That number is not attached to your name, your email address, or anything you typed into a form here.

What we look at is which essays get read, which pages people leave from, and roughly where in the world visitors are. We run no advertising, we build no advertising audiences, and no advertising features are switched on for the property. We do not sell any of it.

Your answer is kept in your own browser rather than in a cookie, which is why the question is asked again on a device you have not used here before. You can change it whenever you like, using the control below. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site at once. Nothing here stops working either way.

Like nearly every website, ours produces operational server logs on the hosting platform: requests, errors, and, for the forms, a record of whether a submission went through. Those logs exist so we can keep the site working. The form log lines record outcomes, not the content of your message.
